Chapter 8 - The Ultimatum

Victor’s cold, calculated demeanor shattered into absolute rage.
He stepped forward, but four guns instantly aimed at his chest.
"Sign over the shipping routes, the holding companies, everything," Declan demanded, tossing a pen and a stack of papers onto a barrel.
"If you don't, I will shoot the girl first, then your friend, then you."
Harper shook her head violently, pleading with her eyes for Victor not to surrender his empire.
Victor stared at her, realizing she was worth more than every ship and dollar he owned.
He walked over to the barrel and picked up the pen.
"Good boy," Declan sneered, stepping closer to gloat.
As Victor lowered the pen to the paper, Harper slammed her heel into the guard behind her.
She violently kicked over a red barrel marked flammable.
Gasoline poured across the floor, soaking the paperwork and Declan's expensive shoes.
Victor didn't hesitate for a microsecond.
