Chapter 3 - Collateral Damage

Victor pulled Harper into his private elevator and locked the system down.
"Your father has no criminal record," Victor stated, his mind racing.
"My father is a gambling addict," Harper corrected, wrapping her arms around herself.
"He owes Declan Reeve three million dollars."
Victor's jaw clenched at the mention of the rival boss he had fought just hours ago.
They reached the penthouse, a sprawling fortress of glass and steel.
Arthur was waiting in the foyer, his weapon drawn.
"Perimeter is secure, sir," Arthur reported, eyeing Harper with surprise.
"Declan is using her father's debt to get to me," Victor deduced aloud.
He poured Harper a glass of whiskey and forced her to drink it.
"He knows I let her into my elevator, which means he has eyes inside my building."
Arthur pulled out an encrypted tablet and handed it to Victor.
"Worse than that, sir."
Victor read the glowing screen and his expression turned to pure ice.
