Chapter 19 - Hurricane Warning

Outside, the dark Miami sky opened up, unleashing a torrential downpour that rattled the mansion's massive windows.
Lightning flashed, illuminating the server room as Cartel soldiers breached the hallway.
Victor stood at the doorway, a force of nature more destructive than the storm outside.
He fired methodically, taking down wave after wave of Mateo's mercenaries.
"Sixty seconds!" Harper shouted, sweat forming on her brow as the download bar crept toward a hundred percent.
Suddenly, the drywall beside Victor exploded as Mateo charged through a hidden side passage.
Mateo tackled Victor to the ground, sending both men crashing into a rack of blinking servers.
Mateo pulled a jagged combat knife, slashing wildly at Victor's throat.
Victor caught Mateo's wrist, the two men locking into a brutal test of pure strength.
"You stole my life, Victor!" Mateo spat, pressing the blade closer to Victor's skin.
"You destroyed your own life," Victor grunted, twisting his hips to reverse their positions.
Victor pinned Mateo to the floor, delivering a devastating punch that shattered Mateo's nose.
Before Mateo could recover, Victor disarmed him and drove the hilt of the knife into Mateo's temple, knocking him completely unconscious.
"Upload complete!" Harper screamed, pulling the cord from the mainframe.
"The Cartel's entire financial network is frozen."
Arthur rushed in, his tactical gear covered in dust and plaster.
"The police are a mile away, boss," Arthur reported.

"Let them have him," Victor said, looking down at Mateo's unconscious body.
Victor grabbed Harper's hand, leading her out into the pouring rain to the extraction helicopter waiting on the lawn.
