Chapter 4 - The Alleyway Escapade

I walked out of the police precinct and stepped into the freezing night air.
The street was eerily empty, completely devoid of standard police cruisers.
Three massive black SUVs were parked horizontally across the exit, blocking my path entirely.
Four men in dark tactical gear stepped out of the vehicles, holding heavy batons.
They clearly intended to abduct me and force my signature in a hidden location.
I did not panic, nor did I attempt to run back inside the corrupt police station.
I slowly unbuttoned my corporate blazer and dropped it onto the wet pavement.
The largest man charged at me, swinging his heavy baton directly at my head.
I ducked smoothly underneath his wild swing and drove my knee fiercely into his ribcage.
He collapsed to the ground, violently gasping for air.
The other three men hesitated, realizing I was not a helpless corporate analyst.
I grabbed the dropped baton and launched myself directly into the center of their group.
I systematically dismantled them with brutal, precise strikes to their joints and pressure points.
In less than sixty seconds, all four mercenaries were groaning in agony on the concrete.
I threw the baton away and sprinted down a narrow, dark alleyway.
I navigated the labyrinth of city streets until I reached an abandoned warehouse.
This was a heavily secured safe house I had prepared years ago for emergencies exactly like this.
I unlocked the reinforced steel door and quickly booted up my hidden server rack.
I initiated a massive cyber-infiltration into Julian’s private family network.
Lines of green code scrolled rapidly across my multiple monitors.
I finally cracked his encrypted personal emails and uncovered his true motive.
Julian had not married me for my condo or my modest corporate salary.
He had married me because my biological father, a man I had never met, had recently passed away.
My unknown father had left a fifty-million-dollar offshore trust fund entirely in my name.
Julian’s family was secretly bankrupt, and he needed to control me to access that massive fortune.

Suddenly, a red warning light flashed aggressively on my computer screen.
Someone had just remotely locked down my entire corporate office building, trapping my younger sister inside.
