Chapter 14 - The Bloodline Decree

The entire grand ballroom fell into an absolute, terrifying silence as Alexander slowly descended the grand marble staircase.
Every single powerful criminal mastermind in the room bowed their heads in deep, unwavering submission to his authority.
He walked directly toward me, his piercing gray eyes locking onto my silver wolf mask with a cold, highly calculating intensity.
"You look exactly like your beautiful mother, Elena," Alexander stated loudly, his deep voice echoing violently off the ancient stone walls.
"Take off the mask and officially accept your rightful place beside me at the absolute top of the global food chain."
I did not move a single muscle, keeping my hand hovering dangerously close to the concealed pistol on my thigh.
"Where is my sister, Alexander?" I demanded fiercely, refusing to play his twisted psychological games.
Alexander offered a chilling, entirely empty smile and casually snapped his expensive leather-gloved fingers.
A massive projector screen descended rapidly from the beautiful painted ceiling, flickering instantly to life.
The live, high-definition video feed showed my terrified sister, Lily, trapped securely inside a heavily reinforced glass tank.
The tank was slowly filling with freezing water from the Venetian canals, the dark liquid already rising dangerously above her waist.
Standing directly beside the glass tank, holding a heavy electrical control switch, was Julian.
Julian’s shattered arm had been completely rebuilt with a massive, terrifyingly advanced cybernetic titanium brace.
His eyes were completely wild and bloodshot, highly dilated from massive doses of experimental military combat stimulants.
"Julian is a very loyal, very predictable dog," Alexander explained casually, pouring himself a glass of expensive champagne.
"He simply wants to slowly torture you to death for breaking his arm and publicly destroying his pathetic corporate ego."
Alexander took a slow, elegant sip of his champagne and turned his predatory gaze back to me.
"I have spent the last thirty years brutally building the greatest shadow empire in human history, but I am dying of a rare neurological disease."
He stepped directly into my personal space, lowering his voice to a chilling, commanding whisper.
"I need a highly intelligent, completely ruthless heir to take control of my European operations tomorrow morning."
"If you publicly kneel right now, swear absolute loyalty to the Obsidian Circle, and brutally execute Vanessa to prove your commitment, I will gladly drain your sister's tank."
I looked back at Vanessa, who was standing perfectly still in the crowd, her hand securely resting on her hidden weapon.
"And if I absolutely refuse your insane offer?" I asked, my voice completely devoid of any fear.

Alexander smiled wickedly and raised his glass toward the massive video screen.
"Then Julian flips the electrical switch, and your innocent sister boils alive in that glass cage before I have you shot dead on this beautiful carpet."
