Chapter 15 - The Execution Block

The lower levels of the oil rig were a massive, confusing labyrinth of rusting pipes and heavy industrial machinery.

The deafening roar of the ocean storm outside masked the sound of our tactical boots hitting the metal floor.

We moved upward in a flawless tactical formation, clearing room after room with ruthless efficiency.

We encountered a heavy patrol of eight cartel mercenaries guarding the primary stairwell.

They were armed with heavy military-grade rifles and heavy body armor.

Jax threw a blinding flashbang grenade perfectly into the center of their patrol formation.

The explosive white light illuminated the dark corridor as my team opened fire with suppressed weapons.

The entire patrol was completely wiped out before they could even sound the alarm.

We stepped over their bodies and continued our relentless ascent toward the executive command deck.

As we reached the fourth level, the emergency klaxons suddenly began wailing with a deafening, high-pitched shriek.

Bright red strobe lights flashed violently across the metal walls.

Someone had found the bodies on the lower deck.

Our stealth advantage was completely gone, and we were now in a massive, open firefight.

Heavy machine-gun fire ripped through the metal walls, showering us in deadly sparks and jagged shrapnel.

I dove behind a thick steel beam, returning highly accurate suppressive fire down the long corridor.

"Push forward! Do not let them pin us down!" I roared over the deafening chaos.

My team aggressively advanced, using coordinated bounding movements to completely overwhelm the defending mercenaries.

We reached the heavy blast doors of the main executive suite at the very top of the rig.

The doors were sealed tight with a sophisticated magnetic locking mechanism.

Jax pulled a heavy block of concentrated C4 explosive from his tactical vest and slapped it onto the lock.

We took cover around the corner and covered our ears.

The massive explosion completely blew the heavy steel doors right off their thick hinges.

Thick gray smoke poured violently out of the ruined doorway.

I raised my rifle and stepped slowly into the massive, luxuriously decorated command center.

The room was filled with expensive leather furniture, original artwork, and a massive wall of digital monitors.

But the room was entirely empty.

A sleek, black walkie-talkie was sitting perfectly in the center of the massive mahogany desk.

The radio crackled to life, echoing with my father's cold, mocking laughter.

He told me he had watched my entire assault on the security cameras with immense pride.

He said I fought exactly like the ruthless monster he had created me to be.

I grabbed the radio and demanded to know where he was hiding.

He told me to look out the massive glass window overlooking the helipad.
