Chapter 14 - The Geneva Trap

The beautiful Swiss Alps loomed in the distance as our black motorcade pulled up to a highly exclusive international bank in Geneva.

The crisp, freezing air felt entirely refreshing as I stepped out of the armored vehicle wearing a tailored designer coat.

I held a thick leather briefcase containing the physical transfer documents for the billion-dollar tech trust.

Grandma Margaret walked proudly by my side, flanked by four massive, heavily armed private security contractors.

We had intentionally leaked my flight itinerary to a known dark web data broker, guaranteeing Evan knew exactly where I was going.

We walked into the lavish, marble-floored lobby of the bank, requesting a private viewing room to authorize a massive wire transfer.

The bank director nervously escorted us to a highly secure glass boardroom overlooking the bustling city streets.

"The federal agents are stationed in the service elevators and the lobby," Richard whispered into his secure earpiece.

We had completely surrounded the building with elite Interpol operatives disguised as wealthy banking clients.

The trap was perfectly set, but the agonizing wait made every single second feel like an eternity.

I looked at my watch, realizing it was exactly noon, the precise deadline Evan had given me on the hacked television.

Suddenly, the heavy glass doors of the boardroom swung open with an aggressive, confident push.

Evan walked into the room wearing a bespoke Italian suit, looking incredibly handsome and completely terrifying.

He casually locked the glass doors behind him and smiled at me as if we were just meeting for a casual lunch.

"You actually showed up, Claire. I am genuinely impressed," Evan said, his voice dripping with pure arrogance.

He did not even ask about Lily, entirely confirming that his threat to take her was just leverage to get the money.

Grandma Margaret stared at him with an expression of absolute, withering disgust.

"You are a remarkably pathetic excuse for a man," Margaret told him flatly.

Evan chuckled and pulled a silenced tactical pistol from the inside pocket of his expensive jacket.

He pointed the weapon directly at my chest, causing the private security guards to immediately draw their own weapons.

"Tell your dogs to stand down, Margaret, or Claire dies before they can pull the trigger," Evan warned coldly.

I raised a single hand, signaling our security team to completely lower their weapons.

"You do not need the gun, Evan. I brought the transfer documents," I said, sliding the heavy briefcase across the polished table.
