Chapter 10 - The Truth and the Lie

Vincent Moretti’s hands shook violently as he pressed the barrel of the gun against his own son’s head.

He screamed that if he could not save his heir, he would absolutely destroy him rather than let Dominic win.

The old boss had completely lost his mind, driven entirely insane by his own ruthless ambition.

Dominic lowered his automatic rifle slightly, trying to calculate the exact angle for a clean headshot.

He knew that firing a heavy weapon in this highly explosive, oxygen-rich surgical room was incredibly dangerous.

Hannah slowly stepped forward, lowering her small pistol completely to the floor.

She calmly looked at Vincent, speaking in a soft, completely unafraid voice.

She told him that his son did not have to die, because she was still willing to donate her marrow voluntarily.

Vincent hesitated, his greedy eyes darting toward the surgical table and back to Hannah’s sincere face.

That tiny fraction of a second was the only distraction Dominic needed to act.

He did not fire his gun, but instead threw his heavy tactical knife with brutal, absolute precision.

The blade buried itself deeply into Vincent’s shoulder, forcing him to drop the silver revolver in agony.

Dominic crossed the room in three massive strides, tackling the old mafia boss violently to the sterile floor.

He delivered a crushing blow to Vincent’s jaw, knocking the dangerous monster completely unconscious.

The terrified teenage boy collapsed against the surgical table, sobbing in absolute relief as Hannah rushed to comfort him.

Within minutes, the wailing sirens of actual, uncorrupted federal agents surrounded the illegal medical compound.

Dominic had anonymously leaked the entire Moretti financial ledger to the FBI before attacking the van.

The nightmare was officially over, and the Moretti crime family was entirely dismantled by dawn.

Months later, the morning sun shone brightly through the massive windows of a beautiful new estate in the Hamptons.

Hannah sat on a comfortable velvet sofa, completely relaxed as she watched Lily, Grace, and Emma paint colorful pictures.

Dominic walked into the room, holding two cups of fresh coffee and looking remarkably peaceful.

He kissed the top of Hannah’s head, a simple, incredibly domestic gesture that still gave her butterflies.

They had built a real, beautiful family together, completely free from the violent shadows of his past.

The three little girls simultaneously looked up from their artwork and yelled "Mama!" as Hannah smiled brightly.

Everything was finally perfect, safe, and exactly how it was always supposed to be.

But as Dominic set the morning mail down on the coffee table, a strange, unmarked black envelope caught Hannah's eye.

She slowly opened it, pulling out a crisp, recent photograph of two men standing on a sunny beach in Italy.

One man was Vincent Moretti, looking perfectly healthy and completely free from prison.

The other man smiling warmly beside him was Hannah’s supposedly deceased father.
