Chapter 18 - The Skyfall

I held the heavy encrypted phone tightly against my ear as the freezing Chicago wind violently whipped across the dark courtyard.

"This is Mara Hart, CEO of Harbor Grace. I am officially declaring a Priority One airspace violation over sector four," I commanded with absolute, unyielding authority.

The federal dispatcher on the other end completely recognized my security clearance and immediately scrambled two heavily armed military interceptor jets.

I tracked the helicopter's transponder heavily on my glowing digital tablet, watching the blinking red dot aggressively flee toward the Canadian border.

Thousands of feet in the air, Julian was currently fighting an absolutely brutal, terrifying battle for his life.

He aggressively hauled his heavy body up the freezing steel landing skid, the massive, violent wind threatening to rip him completely into the dark abyss.

He shattered the thin plexiglass of the rear cabin window with his heavily armored elbow and violently hauled himself completely inside the luxurious, leather-lined interior.

Omar shrieked in absolute terror, frantically scrambling backward against the leather seats as the dark, freezing wind roared aggressively into the cabin.

"Kill him! Kill him right now!" Omar screamed wildly at his heavy, tactical pilot.

The pilot drew a heavy, large-caliber revolver and turned blindly to fire into the dark cabin.

Julian moved with terrifying, ghost-like precision, aggressively disarming the pilot and violently slamming the heavy gun completely into the flight console.

The massive helicopter violently pitched sideways, aggressively dropping hundreds of feet in a terrifying, stomach-churning freefall.

Julian ignored the chaotic spin and lunged aggressively across the cabin, wrapping his strong hands violently around Omar’s throat.

"You stole my mother's life, and you turned me into a monster, Omar," Julian snarled, his voice a low, deeply lethal growl entirely audible over the roaring wind.

Omar gasped violently for air, his eyes bulging in pure, unadulterated panic as Julian slowly, methodically crushed his windpipe.

Suddenly, the dark, turbulent clouds outside the helicopter violently illuminated with the bright, blinding glare of two massive, military interceptor jets.

The jets flanked the struggling helicopter perfectly, their heavy, deafening engines completely overpowering the sound of the chopper's rotors.

"Unidentified aircraft, you are completely in violation of restricted airspace. Land immediately or you will be shot down," a booming, mechanical voice echoed loudly over the radio.

Omar smiled a sick, twisted, and deeply victorious smile, despite the heavy hands violently crushing his throat.

"If they shoot us down, Julian, we both die, and you completely lose your precious revenge," Omar choked out weakly.

Julian stared deeply into the arrogant billionaire’s eyes, entirely recognizing that Omar was absolutely right.

Julian did not release his lethal grip. Instead, he violently slammed Omar’s heavy head completely against the reinforced steel door of the cabin.

Omar instantly collapsed into complete, deeply satisfying unconsciousness on the expensive leather floor.

Julian aggressively grabbed the flight controls from the terrified pilot, violently pulling the heavy helicopter out of its fatal spin and stabilizing the craft.

He smoothly opened a secure, encrypted radio channel directly to my personal tablet waiting on the ground.

"The package is entirely secured, Mara, and I am bringing the monster directly back to you," Julian’s voice crackled heavily through the speaker.

I smiled a cold, completely ruthless smile, entirely ready to permanently end the brutal war that had plagued my family for twenty years.

"Bring him to the abandoned shipyards on Pier 4, Julian. We are going to finish this entirely in the dark," I replied smoothly.
