Chapter 8 - The Broadcast

Elias slowly raised his hands and stepped away from the glowing laptop screen.

"You really think Victor will let you live once he has the money?" Elias asked the bodyguard smoothly.

The massive man simply smiled and pulled back the hammer of the gun.

"He pays me too well to care about his exit strategy," the bodyguard replied.

I knew Elias needed exactly thirty more seconds for the upload to complete.

Without thinking, I grabbed a heavy fire extinguisher from the wall bracket and swung it with all my strength.

The heavy red cylinder smashed into the back of the bodyguard's knees, buckling his legs instantly.

Elias lunged forward, tackling the massive man to the floor in a brutal struggle.

The silenced pistol skittered across the floor, sliding under a server rack.

"Hit the enter key, Clara!" Elias shouted as he wrestled the bodyguard into a chokehold.

I dove toward the laptop and slammed my hand down on the enter key.

Down in the ballroom, Sienna was just leaning into the microphone to announce her massive charitable donation.

"We are so proud to introduce our new vision for the future," she smiled warmly to the applauding crowd.

Suddenly, the massive digital screen behind her flickered and shifted away from her charity logo.

Instead, a high-definition scan of the black ledger appeared, highlighting every single illegal wire transfer.

The crowd gasped as Marcus's name, along with Julian's fake medical records, flashed for everyone to see.

Sienna turned around, her smile completely vanishing as she stared at the undeniable proof of her crimes.

"Turn that off!" Marcus screamed into the microphone, wildly signaling to the control booth.

Victor stood up from his front-row seat, his face turning pale as his own secret offshore account numbers appeared on the screen.

I grabbed the control room microphone and hit the broadcast button.

"Sienna and Marcus stole fifty million dollars from a charity designed to protect vulnerable women," my voice echoed through the massive ballroom.

The wealthy guests began murmuring loudly, pulling out their phones to record the spectacular downfall.

Sienna grabbed the edge of the podium, realizing her entire high-society life was instantly over.

The ballroom doors burst open, and dozens of federal agents flooded into the room, surrounding the stage.

Victor tried to slip out the side exit, but two agents tackled him roughly to the carpet.

I looked down from the glass window, feeling an overwhelming sense of justice as handcuffs were slapped onto Marcus's wrists.

But as I scanned the chaotic crowd, a sickening realization hit me.

Sienna was absolutely nowhere to be found.
