Chapter 2 - The Real Father

Sienna shook her head frantically, clutching the baby tightly against her chest.
"Julian, you cannot believe this ridiculous doctor," she pleaded, tears welling in her carefully made-up eyes.
"Clara clearly paid him to falsify these records to ruin our happiness."
I let out a soft laugh, amazed at how easily she could still lie.
"I didn't have a single dollar to my name after you both stole my foundation, Sienna," I reminded her calmly.
Julian ignored me entirely, stepping aggressively into Sienna's personal space.
"I demand you tell me the truth right now, or I will drag you to a DNA clinic myself," he roared.
Nurses at the nearby station stopped their work, watching the wealthy couple completely unravel.
Sienna backed away, her designer heels clicking frantically against the polished floor.
"You are scaring him, Julian," she cried, gesturing to the wailing infant.
She turned around and began to sprint toward the emergency exit stairs.
"Don't you dare run away from me!" Julian screamed, lunging forward to grab her arm.
Before his fingers could even brush her sleeve, the heavy fire door swung open with a massive crash.
A tall, broad-shouldered man in a sharp tailored suit stepped into the hallway, blocking her path.
He gently reached out and took the crying baby from Sienna's trembling arms.
Julian froze in his tracks, staring at the newcomer in absolute horror.
"Marcus?" Julian gasped, his voice barely a whisper.
Marcus, Julian's older brother and the chief financial officer of their family empire, offered a cruel, mocking smile.
"Hello, little brother," Marcus said, cradling the child expertly.
"I believe you are upsetting my son and his mother."
Julian's knees finally gave out, and he collapsed onto the hospital floor, realizing his entire life was a carefully constructed lie.
I watched the family drama unfold, but my satisfaction was quickly replaced by a sudden, creeping sense of dread.

Marcus looked directly at me over Julian's sobbing form.
"Thank you for leaving the foundation in such excellent financial shape, Clara," Marcus smirked.
