Chapter 19 - The Final Courtroom

I met Elias outside the massive, imposing federal courthouse at exactly eight in the morning.

He wore a sharp, understated grey suit, looking completely unfazed by the absolute chaos he had orchestrated over the past three years.

We did not speak a single word as we walked through the heavy metal detectors and entered the crowded elevator.

The high-stakes trust hearing was being held in a private, heavily guarded family court chamber on the top floor.

We walked into the courtroom just as Julian's high-priced lawyers were presenting the final custody documents to the presiding judge.

Julian sat confidently at the plaintiff's table, looking incredibly smug and completely victorious.

He turned around when the heavy oak doors opened, his arrogant smile instantly melting into a mask of pure, unadulterated shock.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Julian shouted, jumping to his feet and pointing a trembling finger at Elias.

"Mr. Thorne is here to formally object to the release of the trust funds, Your Honor," I stated clearly, walking straight down the center aisle.

The judge slammed his wooden gavel, demanding immediate order in his chaotic courtroom.

Julian's lead attorney quickly stood up, desperately trying to salvage their carefully constructed legal narrative.

"Your Honor, Mr. Thorne has absolutely no legal standing here. My client has full, uncontested custody of the child," the lawyer argued fiercely.

Elias walked calmly to the front of the room, pulling a thick, sealed medical file from his leather briefcase.

"Custody is completely irrelevant, Your Honor, when the child in question is entirely fraudulent," Elias declared smoothly.

He handed the sealed file directly to the court bailiff, who passed it up to the highly confused judge.

"That file contains a court-ordered, fully independent DNA test conducted by the FBI yesterday afternoon," Elias explained to the silent room.

"It conclusively proves that the child currently in Julian's custody has absolutely zero biological relation to the Thorne family."

Julian's face turned completely white as the devastating reality of the situation rapidly set in.

"That is a complete lie!" Julian screamed, wildly slamming his fists against the heavy wooden table.

"Sienna swore under oath that he was the heir!"

The judge quickly reviewed the official FBI medical documents, his expression hardening into absolute, cold fury.

"The DNA results are perfectly clear, Julian," the judge stated, his voice echoing sharply through the quiet room.

"This child belongs to Dr. Audrey Vance, and you have attempted to completely defraud a two-hundred-million-dollar federal trust."

Julian slowly backed away from the table, realizing his grand, ultimate master plan had just spectacularly imploded.

The heavy courtroom doors burst open once again, and four federal marshals marched aggressively down the aisle.

They bypassed Elias entirely and walked straight toward Julian.

"Julian Vance, you are officially under arrest for massive attempted financial fraud and federal perjury," the lead marshal announced, grabbing Julian's arm roughly.

Julian didn't fight back; he completely collapsed into the chair, utterly broken and finally, permanently defeated.
