Chapter 7 - THE VIRAL JUSTICE

The internet is a wild, unpredictable place. My comment didn't just stay in our family circle. A cousin screenshotted the exchange and posted it to a popular wedding shaming group on Reddit.

Within four hours, it went viral.

The extended family, who had been dragging my name through the mud, suddenly went completely silent. My Aunt Brenda, who had called me "toxic" twenty minutes earlier, replied to the screenshot: "Wait. She told you not to mention your dead mother? And she demanded $1,500?"

Chloe frantically deleted the Facebook post, but the damage was irreversible. The family group chats were entirely derailed. Nobody was talking about how I abandoned the wedding; they were talking about how Chloe was a tyrannical, shallow bride who tried to extort her sister and erase her mother.

Even worse for Chloe, Carter's family saw the post. His mother, furious at being publicly exposed as a fraud during the reception, decided to throw Chloe under the bus. She commented on a mutual friend's page that Chloe was a "gold-digger who got exactly what she deserved."

The "upscale aesthetic" was dead and buried.
