Chapter 9 - The Resurrection
Richard Bennett strode confidently into the boardroom wearing a tailored suit.
He was flanked by a dozen heavily armed federal marshals wearing tactical body armor.
The corrupt Agent Miller dropped his weapon immediately and raised his hands high in the air.
Federal marshals slammed him against the wall and locked heavy iron handcuffs onto his wrists.
Richard looked at David with an expression of absolute authority and disgust.
He explained that he had been working secretly with the department of justice for the past five years to build a massive racketeering case.
He used our terrifying ordeal to finally draw David and his corrupt associates out into the open.
David panicked and grabbed a heavy glass vase from the table to use as a weapon.
Michael leaped across the mahogany table and tackled his former best friend to the ground.
He delivered a powerful punch to David's jaw that echoed loudly throughout the large room.
The federal marshals quickly subdued David and dragged him away to face a lifetime in prison.
I cried tears of pure joy as Michael wrapped his strong arms around me and our beautiful daughter.
The nightmare was finally over, and the Bennett family legacy was officially secure.
But just as we began to celebrate our victory, a side door connecting to a private office slowly creaked open.
