Michael stared at the thick stack of papers in his trembling hands.
The massive marble atrium was so quiet that I could hear my own rapid heartbeat.
Lily whimpered softly against his chest as he read the first page of the DNA results.
His eyes darted back and forth across the black ink.
Then he looked up at Diane with an expression of pure devastation.

Diane was frantically pulling against the grip of the two security guards holding her arms.
