Chapter 6 - The Betrayal

The entire room gasped as Marcus stumbled down the long aisle.
His expensive suit was torn, and he was bleeding from a deep cut on his forehead.
Vanessa dropped Nathan's hand and stared at Marcus in absolute shock.
She demanded to know where the child was.
Marcus ignored her and walked directly up to his older brother.
He fell to his knees and handed Nathan a small, silver tracking device.
He whispered that he simply could not do it.
Marcus explained that Vanessa had ordered him to execute Sophia this morning.
He finally realized he could not murder an innocent child for money.
Marcus fought Vanessa's hired mercenaries to escape the warehouse alive.
He managed to hide Sophia in a secure location before rushing to the wedding.
Vanessa screamed and lunged at Marcus with absolute, psychotic fury.
The federal agents disguised as caterers immediately tackled her to the marble floor.
They slapped heavy steel handcuffs onto her delicate wrists.
Vanessa cursed at all of us, swearing she would ruin our lives from behind bars.
The police dragged her screaming out of the grand ballroom.
I dropped to the floor next to Marcus and begged him to tell me where my daughter was.
He gave me the exact address of an abandoned shipping yard by the docks.
Nathan pulled me to my feet, and we ran out of the mansion together.
We jumped into his fast sports car and sped toward the industrial harbor.
The agonizing drive felt like an absolute eternity.
We finally arrived at the rusting iron gates of the shipping yard.
We ran through the massive maze of metal containers, searching for the one Marcus described.
I spotted a faded red container with the number 404 painted on the side.
We used all our strength to pry the heavy metal doors open.
Inside, sitting safely on a pile of old blankets, was my beautiful Sophia.
I rushed forward and pulled her into the tightest, most desperate hug of my life.
Sophia signed that she was okay, but her tiny hands were trembling.
Nathan smiled warmly and told us the terrifying nightmare was finally over.
A cold, familiar voice suddenly echoed from the darkness behind us.
May you like
"I wouldn't be so sure about that."
We turned around to see Dr. Evans pointing a loaded shotgun directly at us.
