Chapter 3 - The Masked Intruder

The video continued to play silently on the small, glowing screen.

It proved beyond any doubt that Victoria was guilty of everything.

Ethan looked at his wife with pure, unfiltered disgust.

"Pack your bags and get out of my house before I call the detectives," Ethan ordered with a deadly quiet voice.

Victoria opened her mouth to argue, but the sheer, violent rage in his eyes stopped her immediately.

She turned around and fled down the long hallway without looking back.

Sarah finally let out a long breath of relief and gently rocked the crying baby back to sleep.

"Thank you for saving my son's life today, Sarah," Ethan whispered gently.

He looked back down at the phone to pause the disturbing recording.

Suddenly, he noticed something terrifying moving in the deep background of the video.

The camera angle from the teddy bear perfectly captured the reflection of the large nursery mirror.

In the mirror, the video showed the bedroom closet door slowly creeping open.

A tall, broad-shouldered man wearing a dark ski mask stepped silently into the room.

The masked man walked up right behind Victoria without making a single sound.

He gently placed his black, gloved hand on her trembling shoulder.

Then the mysterious man handed the hot iron directly to Victoria.

Victoria had clearly not acted alone in this twisted, horrible crime.

She was taking orders from someone who was secretly hiding inside the house.

Ethan zoomed in on the man's wrist just as he handed over the heavy iron.

There was a very distinct, jagged scar shaped like a lightning bolt carved into the stranger's skin.
