Chapter 2 - The Hidden Lens

Ethan walked slowly into the center of the silent nursery.

He stared down at the scorched rug and the steaming iron resting on the floor.

Sarah held baby Leo tighter and refused to back away from the furious father.

"Mr. Ethan, you have to believe me," Sarah pleaded with a shaking, desperate voice.

"She was the one holding the iron over him, and I stopped her," Sarah insisted.

Victoria let out a dramatic gasp and leaned her head against Ethan's broad shoulder.

"Call the police and have this psycho arrested immediately before she hurts us," Victoria demanded.

Ethan looked up at the plastic security camera in the corner of the room.

He reached up, grabbed the plastic casing, and pulled the device completely off the wall.

Victoria smirked in the shadows because she had personally disconnected the wires months ago.

"You are absolutely right, Victoria, this camera is completely useless," Ethan said in a cold, hollow tone.

Sarah felt a massive wave of despair wash over her entire body.

She was just a poor maid with no money, and she was about to go to federal prison.

Ethan pulled his expensive cell phone from his pocket and tapped the bright screen.

"That is exactly why I installed a real, hidden camera inside the teddy bear yesterday," Ethan revealed calmly.

Victoria's fake, dramatic tears stopped instantly.

The warm color completely drained from her flawless, arrogant face.

Ethan pressed play on his phone and turned the screen around for his wife to see.

The high-definition video clearly showed Victoria holding the iron with deliberate, malicious intent.

But as Ethan continued to watch the footage, his expression suddenly changed from anger to absolute confusion.
