Chapter 4 - The Hidden Truth
The bride stumbled backward as if she had been physically struck.
Every single guest stared at the Police Chief in sheer disbelief.
The groom fell to his knees in the damp grass.
They had just realized the terrifying scale of Alexander's true power.
"Secure the perimeter, Chief," Alexander ordered with authority.
"Nobody leaves until I am finished here," he added coldly.
The officers immediately formed a solid wall around the terrified wedding party.
Alexander gently wiped a drop of water from Elena's pale cheek.
"Why did you even come to this wretched place?" he asked her softly.
Elena took a deep, shaky breath before facing the crowd.
"Chloe invited me to mock my past," Elena explained quietly.
The bride had known Elena when they were both struggling college students.
Chloe had married into money and wanted to humiliate her old friend.
"She sent an invitation addressed to the poor charity case," Elena revealed.
Alexander's eyes darkened into a dangerous shade of fury.
"But there is something Chloe does not know," Elena continued confidently.
Elena reached into her soaked purse and pulled out a waterproof folder.
"I am the silent owner of the biotech patent your family relies on," she said.
The bride's family built their entire wealth on one medical device.
"I lease that patent to your father's company," Elena stated clearly.
Chloe's father turned a sickly shade of green on the ground.
"I am revoking the lease effective immediately," Elena announced.
Chloe let out a high-pitched, hysterical laugh.
She reached into her cleavage and pulled out a small silver flash drive.
"You are too late, Elena," Chloe smiled wickedly.
"I hired a hacker to steal your patent files this morning," she bragged.
"I have the master source code right here," Chloe said triumphantly.
"We do not need you or your stupid lease anymore!" she yelled.
Alexander looked at the flash drive and let out a dark, booming laugh.
"You foolish woman," Alexander said, shaking his head in pity.
Chloe plugged the drive into her phone to prove her victory.

"What is happening?" Chloe shrieked as her phone began to smoke.
