Chapter 2 - The Escape

The rooftop went completely silent as the guns were drawn.
The wealthy guests screamed and scrambled toward the elevators.
Elena did not even flinch at the sight of the weapons.
She pulled little Leo behind her legs to shield him.
"You think you can just steal my empire?" Victoria hissed.
"I built this brand from nothing!"
Elena shook her head slowly.
"You stole my designs ten years ago, Victoria."
"I am just taking back what has always been mine."
Victoria gestured to her armed guards.
"Throw them off the roof," she ordered.
"Make it look like a tragic murder-suicide."
The largest guard stepped forward and reached for Elena's throat.
Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed through the night sky.
A massive black helicopter rose over the edge of the skyscraper.
Its powerful spotlight blinded Victoria and her men.
The side door of the chopper slid open.
Two heavily armed men in tactical gear aimed sniper rifles at Victoria's guards.
"Drop your weapons immediately!" a voice boomed over a loudspeaker.
Victoria's guards panicked and threw their guns onto the floor.
Elena scooped Leo into her arms and ran toward the hovering aircraft.
The tactical team pulled them safely into the cabin.
The helicopter immediately banked away from the building.
Elena let out a deep breath of relief and hugged her son.
"We are safe now, Leo," she whispered.
She turned to thank the pilot who had orchestrated the rescue.
The pilot slowly turned his head around.

He pulled off his tactical helmet and smiled.
