Chapter 3 - The Federal Ghost

The click of the gun's trigger echoed like a cannon in the tense silence of the cabin.
Evelyn knew she had less than a second to move before the corrupt Air Marshal ended her life.
She violently shoved the flight attendant forward, using the woman as a human shield just as the gun fired.
The bullet grazed the attendant's shoulder, causing her to scream and collapse to the floor.
Evelyn used the momentary distraction to drop low and sweep the Marshal's legs out from under him.
The heavy man crashed onto the armrests, his federal firearm slipping from his grasp.
Evelyn moved with the terrifying speed of a ghost, pinning the man's arm behind his back until the bone snapped.
The Marshal howled in agony, completely immobilized on the cabin floor.
Evelyn quickly retrieved his fallen weapon and checked the magazine to ensure it was fully loaded.
She turned around to check on her grandson, who was crying but safely hidden beneath his seat.
She promised Leo that she would never let anything happen to him or his father.
The remaining passengers stared at Evelyn in absolute awe and terror, realizing this grandmother was an elite killing machine.
She ordered everyone to stay down and buckle their seatbelts tightly.
While Evelyn was securing the cabin, the wounded flight attendant managed to crawl toward the front of the plane.
She dragged herself into the forward galley and slammed the reinforced security door shut.
Evelyn rushed forward, pounding her fist against the heavy, bulletproof metal barrier.
Through the small glass observation window, she saw the attendant clutching the stolen glass vial.
The attendant picked up the emergency intercom microphone, her face pale but smiling maliciously.
Her voice crackled over the cabin speakers, echoing over the sound of the roaring jet engines.
She announced that if Evelyn tried to breach the door, the medicine would be destroyed immediately.
Evelyn aimed her gun at the glass, searching for any structural weakness in the reinforced door.

The attendant held the fragile glass vial directly over the galley's high-temperature trash incinerator chute.
With a wicked grin, the operative slowly opened her bleeding fingers to drop the cure into the fire.
