Lily could not understand how the most powerful mafia boss had been captured.
She listened closely through the broken glass window.
Serena was gloating about how easily Victor's own men had betrayed him for a higher paycheck.
She told Victor that the poisoned whiskey was just a backup plan.
She wanted to look him in the eyes when she took his entire criminal empire.
Victor spat blood onto the concrete floor and told her she would burn in hell.
Serena laughed and aimed the gun at the wooden crate holding Ethan.
She told Victor to sign the transfer documents or the baby would die first.
Lily knew she had only seconds to act.
She found a half-empty can of gasoline near a pile of old tires outside.
She poured the fuel over the tires and sparked a lighter she found in the car.
The flames erupted violently into the night sky.
Thick black smoke poured into the warehouse vents.
Serena's men panicked and ran outside to investigate the sudden fire.
Lily used the distraction to slip through the side door.
She sprinted across the room and sliced Victor's ropes with a piece of broken glass.
Victor stood up abruptly.
Before Lily could say a single word, Victor grabbed her by the throat.
