Her knees scraped against the cold marble floor as she struggled to breathe.
Serena laughed a cruel and hollow sound that echoed through the massive foyer.
She raised her designer heel to strike Lily again.
Suddenly, the massive oak doors of the mansion burst open with a deafening crash.
The heavy footsteps echoing through the room belonged to only one man.
Victor Blackwood had returned from his business trip three days early.
His dark eyes swept over the horrific scene unfolding in his home.
He saw his infant son crying uncontrollably on the hard floor.
He saw his beautiful fiancée standing over a bleeding, gasping nanny.
Serena instantly dropped to her knees and began to sob fake, hysterical tears.
She cried out that Lily had just tried to kidnap the baby.
Serena claimed she had to use physical force to stop the crazy nanny from escaping.
Victor slowly reached into his tailored suit jacket.
