Chapter 5 - The Footage
Lily backed away slowly until she hit the cold concrete wall.
The bodyguard lunged forward with blinding speed.
Lily dodged to the left, throwing a heavy garbage bin into his path.
The man stumbled, giving her just enough time to grab a metal pipe from the floor.
He slashed the knife wildly, cutting a deep gash across her shoulder.
Lily screamed in pain but swung the heavy pipe with desperate force.
She struck his knee, sending him crashing to the ground.
She didn't wait for him to get back up.
She bolted out of the room and raced up the servant stairs.
She found an empty guest bedroom and locked the door behind her.
She pulled a stolen burner phone from the unconscious guard's jacket she had taken earlier.
Her trembling fingers slid the memory card into the slot.
She pulled up the video files.
The footage from the nursery began to play on the small screen.
It clearly showed Serena violently shaking the baby and twisting his arm.
But the video continued playing past the assault.
It showed Serena handing the baby over to a strange man dressed in black.
The man placed Ethan into a dark duffel bag.
Serena handed the man a thick stack of cash and pointed toward the window.

Lily realized with absolute horror that Ethan was no longer in the mansion.
He had been taken away hours ago.
