Chapter 4 - The Fallout

I stared at the lawyer, my mind struggling to process how fast this was escalating.

Greg stepped up to his mother and told her to get out of our house immediately.

Eleanor refused, pointing a trembling finger at me and calling me a home-wrecker.

Rachel stood there, fake-crying and leaning heavily on her lawyer for support.

I pointed out that the bandages were clearly fake and asked to see the actual cuts on her hands.

Rachel's eyes darted nervously, and she quickly hid her hands behind her back.

The lawyer stepped forward, warning me that any further harassment would result in a restraining order.

He handed Greg a thick stack of legal documents and told us we had thirty days to respond.

They turned and marched out of the house, leaving a toxic silence in their wake.

Greg threw the documents on the table and rubbed his temples in frustration.

I realized then that Rachel was willing to burn the whole family to the ground just to avoid accountability.

I decided it was time to take off the kid gloves.

I opened the family Facebook group, which had over fifty relatives in it.

I uploaded the audio clip, typed out a brief explanation of the TV incident, and hit post.

Within minutes, my phone started blowing up with notifications.

Aunts, uncles, and cousins were going absolutely crazy in the comments.

Some were horrified by Rachel, while others accused me of using artificial intelligence to fake her voice.

Suddenly, a private message popped up on my screen from a user not in the group.

May you like

It was from Mark, Rachel's ex-husband.

The message said he had seen the post, and he had something much worse to show me.
