Chapter 1 - The Package

After all the guests had gone home, my phone started vibrating on the kitchen counter.
I looked down and saw Rachel's name flashing on the screen.
I answered the call, and before I could even say hello, she was screaming so loudly I had to pull the phone away from my ear.
She demanded to know what kind of sick joke I was playing.
I smiled calmly and asked her if she liked the special package I had sent home with her in the trunk of her car.
I had carefully gathered every single shard of the broken TV screen and packed it into a beautiful gift box.
On top of the shattered glass, I placed a printed invoice for two thousand dollars, heavily highlighted.
But the best part was the cheap little voice-recording module I had hidden under the invoice.
When she opened the box, it started looping the exact audio I had secretly recorded on my phone when she told her kids to break my TV.
Over the phone, I could hear her own voice echoing in the background, saying "Good job" again and again.
She screamed that I was a psycho and that she was going to make me pay for harassing her.
I told her she had twenty-four hours to pay for the TV, or I would expose her to everyone.
She laughed a high, hysterical laugh and told me it was too late.
She said she had already called the police, and they were on their way to my house right now.
I felt a cold chill run down my spine.

I turned around to see my husband, Greg, standing in the doorway with a horrified look on his face.
He looked at me with wide eyes and asked what I had done to his sister.
