Chapter 8 - The Harbor Confrontation

Giulietta left the hitman tied to a streetlamp and loaded her new army into three stolen vans.
The clock on her dashboard read eleven-thirty.
She had exactly thirty minutes to stop Silvio from completely selling out the Marconi empire to the Russians.
They arrived at the shipping yards and parked in the shadows of the massive cargo containers.
Giulietta led Dante and her men silently through the maze of steel boxes.
They finally reached Pier 44, where a luxury yacht was docked under the dim yellow lights.
Silvio was standing on the deck, shaking hands with Viktor Petrov.
Several armed Russian guards and corrupt Marconi capos surrounded them.
"Surround the pier and do not fire until I give the order," Giulietta whispered to Dante.
She stepped out of the shadows alone, walking calmly down the wooden dock.
Her high heels clicked loudly against the wood, drawing the attention of every man on the boat.
Silvio's eyes widened in absolute shock when he saw her alive.
"You look like you have seen a ghost, Uncle," Giulietta said loudly.
Viktor Petrov laughed and leaned against the railing of the yacht.
"You did not bring my twenty million dollars, Giulietta," the Russian boss noted.
"I brought something much better, Viktor," she replied.
"I brought the truth."
She looked directly at the Russian syndicate leader.
"Silvio never planned to pay you the rest of the money."
"He is planning to blow up this yacht as soon as he steps off it, pinning your murder on me."
Viktor's smile instantly vanished, and he looked suspiciously at Silvio.
"She is lying to save her own life!" Silvio shouted in panic.
"Am I?" Giulietta challenged.
"Check his jacket pocket, Viktor, you will find the detonator."
Viktor gestured to his guards, who immediately grabbed Silvio and searched him.
They pulled a small, black electronic trigger from his inside pocket.
Silvio turned completely pale, realizing Giulietta had somehow figured out his backup plan.
Before Viktor could execute him, Silvio ripped himself free from the guards and pulled a gun.
He did not aim at the Russians.
Silvio aimed his weapon directly at the heavy metal shipping container suspended by a crane right above Giulietta's head.

He pulled the trigger, shattering the crane's hydraulic lock.
The ten-ton steel box began to plummet directly toward her.
