Chapter 6 - The Ghost's Return

Giulietta gripped the phone tightly, refusing to let her uncle hear her fear.
"You are lying, Silvio," she said with absolute certainty.
"Viktor Petrov would not negotiate for a dead man."
Silvio laughed darkly through the receiver.
"Viktor is a greedy animal who wants to get paid twice."
"I put the bullet in your father's chest myself before I handed him over to the Russians."
Giulietta's heart shattered, but she forced the grief down deep into her soul.
She needed to survive tonight before she could properly mourn her father.
"I am coming for you, Uncle," she promised softly.
"You have no men and no money, little girl," Silvio mocked.
"You are a queen without a kingdom."
He hung up the phone, leaving her standing alone in the shadows.
Giulietta knew she could not fight a war with just a handgun and a silk suit.
She needed soldiers who were loyal to her, not to the Marconi bank accounts.
She walked three miles across the city to a rundown boxing gym in the worst neighborhood.
This was where her father used to recruit his most vicious enforcers before they became polished capos.
She pushed open the rusty metal doors and walked into the dimly lit ring area.
Ten massive, scarred men stopped hitting the heavy bags and turned to look at her.
These were the street soldiers that Silvio had cast aside because they were too uncontrollable.
A giant man named Dante stepped forward, wiping sweat from his forehead.
"The Marconi princess shouldn't be in a place like this," Dante growled.
"My father is gone, and Silvio has taken the throne," Giulietta announced clearly.
"I am here to take it back, and I need men who want to hunt."
Dante looked at her expensive clothes and laughed.
"Why should we bleed for you?"
Giulietta pulled the silver handgun from her holster and slammed it onto a wooden table.
"Because Silvio sold us out to the Russians, and I am giving you permission to kill every single man who betrayed my father."
May you like
Dante's eyes lit up with a terrifying, violent hunger.
Before Dante could answer, a sniper bullet shattered the front window of the gym and hit him perfectly in the shoulder.
