Chapter 9 - The Race Against Death

Terrence stared at the judge in utter confusion.

Delilah was sitting right in front of them on the living room floor, breathing softly but steadily.

The judge explained that Sinclair had registered a fake patient under Delilah's name at his private clinic.

Sinclair was staging her official death right now, creating a legally binding paper trail to claim the massive inheritance.

If the fake death certificate was filed, Sinclair would have enough money to vanish from the country forever.

Terrence told the judge to lock the girls in the safe room and call the federal tactical teams.

He grabbed the keys to the judge's sports car and sped off into the night.

He drove wildly through the empty city streets, heading straight for Sinclair's private medical clinic.

He crashed the sports car directly through the clinic's glass lobby doors, sending glass flying everywhere.

Terrence stepped out of the wrecked vehicle with his weapon drawn, ready for a war.

Sinclair's private security guards rushed the lobby, opening fire immediately.

Terrence fought his way up the marble staircase, using his tactical training to disarm and neutralize the guards.

He kicked open the door to Sinclair's private office on the top floor.

The room was empty, but a secret door behind a bookshelf stood wide open.

Terrence followed the hidden staircase up to the cold, windy roof of the building.

Sinclair was standing near the ledge, holding a briefcase full of bearer bonds and a specialized medical scanner.

Sinclair smiled arrogantly, assuming he had already won the deadly game.

He taunted Terrence, saying the inheritance had already cleared his offshore accounts.

Terrence aimed his gun, demanding the doctor surrender peacefully.

Sinclair laughed and pulled a young, terrified girl from behind an air conditioning unit, holding a scalpel to her throat.
