Chapter 10 - The Final Prescription

Terrence froze as he realized the hostage was a completely innocent child Sinclair had kidnapped to play the fake Delilah.

Sinclair demanded that Terrence drop his weapon, or the little girl would die immediately.

Terrence slowly lowered his gun, placing it carefully onto the wet gravel of the roof.

Sinclair smirked triumphantly and stepped closer to the edge, preparing to throw the child over.

Terrence did not panic, relying on a desperate trick he learned years ago on the force.

He kicked a loose piece of gravel incredibly hard, striking a metal ventilation pipe with a loud clang.

The sudden noise startled Sinclair, causing him to flinch and loosen his grip on the hostage.

Terrence lunged forward with explosive speed, closing the distance before the doctor could react.

He grabbed Sinclair's wrist, twisting it violently until the sharp scalpel clattered to the roof.

With a powerful right hook, Terrence struck the corrupt doctor across the jaw.

Sinclair collapsed into a pathetic heap, his briefcase spilling millions in bonds into the wind.

Federal helicopters suddenly appeared overhead, illuminating the roof with massive spotlights.

Tactical agents swarmed the building, placing the defeated doctor in heavy iron chains.

The innocent decoy child was rescued safely and returned to her own panicked parents.

A few weeks later, Sinclair was formally indicted on multiple counts of murder and fraud, guaranteeing he would die in prison.

The corrupt police captain was arrested, and Terrence was highly decorated as a national hero.

With no remaining family, Terrence formally fostered Charlotte and Delilah, giving them a warm and loving home.

The girls finally smiled again, safe in a bright house free of dark secrets and deadly medicine.

Terrence was helping them unpack their final boxes in their new, sunny bedrooms.

He went out to check the mail and found a plain white envelope with no return address.

Inside was a photograph of his own late wife, who had died in a suspicious car crash five years ago.
