Chapter 7 - The Interrogation Room

Mark was slammed against the wall and forcefully handcuffed by the aggressive officers.
They dragged him out of the room, completely ignoring his desperate pleas about the stolen baby.
He was thrown into the back of a freezing police cruiser and driven to the local precinct.
For six agonizing hours, Mark sat in a dark interrogation room, refusing to speak without a lawyer.
Sarah finally burst through the heavy metal doors, wearing her sharpest legal suit and carrying a massive briefcase.
She demanded the immediate release of her client, throwing a stack of files onto the detective's desk.
She had spent the last few hours tearing apart Dr. Patel's entire financial history.
Sarah proved that Dr. Patel had received a massive offshore wire transfer exactly forty minutes after Baby C was born.
The detective looked at the irrefutable evidence and ordered the handcuffs removed.
Mark rubbed his bruised wrists, feeling a renewed surge of desperate adrenaline.
He asked Sarah if she had found out where the private jet was taking his daughter.
Sarah nodded grimly, pulling out a printed flight manifest she had acquired through a favor.
The jet had not left the country yet; it had been grounded due to a severe mechanical failure.
It was currently sitting on a private airstrip just thirty miles away from the police station.
Mark grabbed his coat, thanking the stunned detective and rushing toward the exit.
They had a very narrow window to stop the plane before the mechanical issue was fixed.
As they ran out the front doors of the precinct, a sleek black car aggressively blocked their path.

The tinted window rolled down slowly, revealing Madison sitting in the driver's seat.
She pointed a silver handgun directly at Mark's chest and told him to get in the car.
