Chapter 5 - The Stolen Sample

The sudden sight of the black handgun completely paralyzed every single person in the massive nursery.

Dr. Aris aimed the lethal weapon directly at Nathan's chest with a slightly trembling hand.

The arrogant doctor dropped his sophisticated medical facade entirely.

He loudly ordered Marco and the other armed guards to slide their heavy weapons across the marble floor.

Marco hesitated for a fraction of a second before complying with the incredibly dangerous demand.

I stood completely frozen near the shattered glass of the dropped medical syringe.

I realized instantly that the clear liquid inside that needle was never actually meant to save little Leo.

It was clearly meant to induce a fatal cardiac arrest to permanently cover up the slow poisoning.

Nathan stared at the corrupted doctor with a terrifyingly calm and highly calculated gaze.

He calmly asked Aris how much money the rival crime family was paying him to brutally murder two innocent children.

Dr. Aris laughed nervously and backed slowly toward the heavy nursery door.

He stated clearly that three million dollars was absolute pocket change compared to what he was promised for this specific job.

The doctor loudly warned us that the lethal powder in the ventilation system was set to release a massive fatal dose in exactly ten minutes.

He planned to lock us securely inside the contaminated room and let the heavy HVAC system finish the job for him.

He stepped quickly backward into the hallway and forcefully slammed the heavy steel security door shut.

We all heard the heavy electronic magnetic locks engage loudly from the outside.

The massive air conditioning unit directly above us roared to life with terrifying force.

A thick, choking cloud of white powder began violently pouring out of the ceiling vent.

We were securely locked inside a literal gas chamber with absolutely no apparent way out.

Then little Max began violently coughing dark blood onto his pristine white pillow.
