Chapter 4 - The Midnight Seizure

The nursery was a scene of absolute chaos as sophisticated medical monitors blared a deafening alarm.

Dr. Aris rushed into the room holding a massive glass syringe filled with a mysterious clear liquid.

He aggressively shouted for the panicked nurses to hold the fragile six-year-old boy firmly down against the mattress.

Nathan stood completely frozen in the corner with a look of pure parental agony on his hardened face.

I watched very closely as Dr. Aris prepared to inject the mysterious clear fluid directly into Leo's delicate IV line.

My eyes slowly drifted back up to the ventilation grate near the painted ceiling.

A tiny, almost microscopic puff of white dust drifted down from the metal slats directly above the bed.

The mansion's massive central air conditioning unit had just automatically kicked on.

I did not think about the severe personal consequences of my impending actions.

I sprinted violently across the room and forcefully slapped the heavy syringe right out of the doctor's hand.

The fragile glass shattered instantly against the expensive marble floor.

Dr. Aris screamed in absolute fury and immediately ordered the armed guards to arrest me.

Marco stepped forward and grabbed me forcefully by both of my shoulders.

I screamed at Nathan to look closely at the falling dust before it was entirely too late.

I pointed frantically at the microscopic white particles slowly settling onto the dark blue medical blankets.

Nathan slowly raised his right hand and Marco instantly stopped moving.

The mafia boss walked slowly to the bed and swiped his bare finger across the contaminated fabric.

He looked intensely at the white residue on his fingertip with a dangerously dark and murderous expression.

Dr. Aris nervously insisted it was just normal drywall dust from recent mansion renovations.

Then the terrified doctor reached quickly into his white coat pocket and pulled out a suppressed black handgun.
