Chapter 9 - The Fall

The tail rotor of the helicopter instantly shattered into a dozen flying pieces of jagged metal.
Without the crucial stabilizing force, the sleek black aircraft immediately lost complete control in the violent winter winds.
The helicopter spun wildly out of control, the deafening alarm sirens wailing from inside the cockpit.
Richard dropped the sniper rifle in absolute panic, desperately grabbing onto the doorframe to keep from being thrown out.
The pilot frantically fought the controls, but the aircraft was entirely doomed.
The helicopter plummeted aggressively toward the treacherous, jagged rocks halfway down the mountain slope.
It impacted the side of the mountain with a massive, earth-shattering explosion that lit up the entire night sky.
A massive fireball rolled upward, completely consuming the aircraft and ending Richard's reign of terror permanently.
Daniel collapsed into the deep snow, his entire body trembling violently from the sheer adrenaline and cold.
Elena rushed forward, pulling Daniel into her arms and holding him fiercely as they watched the wreckage burn below.
Elias groaned from behind the boulder, clutching his bleeding shoulder but offering a weak, triumphant smile.
“That was a remarkably good throw, kid,” Elias muttered through the pain.
Ten minutes later, the distant, rhythmic sound of heavy rotor blades echoed through the valley.
Three massive, military-grade transport helicopters crested the ridge, their spotlights sweeping over the summit.
Dozens of heavily armed federal agents repelled down onto the snow, immediately securing the perimeter and rushing forward with medical bags.
The lead agent approached Elena, lowering his weapon and nodding respectfully.
“The operation was a complete success, ma'am. His offshore accounts are frozen, and his remaining mercenaries have surrendered,” the agent confirmed.
They loaded Elias onto a medical stretcher and ushered Daniel, Emma, and Elena into the warm cabin of the lead helicopter.
As they lifted off into the sky, Daniel looked down at the burning wreckage of his father's helicopter.
