Chapter 5 - The Ultimate Betrayal

The dark, cramped service elevator felt completely suffocating.

Dante stared at the woman he was supposed to marry in just five days.

He did not look surprised, only deeply and profoundly tired.

Sienna laughed bitterly, explaining that she was never going to marry a man who treated her like a trophy.

She had partnered with the rival Volkov family to take over his entire financial empire.

The billion-dollar engagement ring was going to be her ultimate victory prize.

She ordered Mara to tie Dante's hands behind his back with the elevator's emergency cable.

Mara moved slowly, her mind calculating the exact distance between her hands and Sienna's gun.

She wrapped the thick wire around Dante's wrists, making sure to leave a loose, hidden knot.

Sienna forcefully kicked the emergency release lever, dropping the elevator to the underground parking garage.

The doors slid open to reveal a dozen heavily armed Volkov mercenaries waiting in the shadows.

Sienna proudly handed Dante over to the ruthless men, claiming her total victory.

The mercenary leader grabbed Mara by the hair and asked Sienna what to do with the housekeeper.

Sienna smirked and told them to throw Mara in the river because she was completely worthless.

A loud gunshot suddenly echoed through the concrete parking garage.

The mercenary holding Mara dropped entirely dead to the floor.

Dante had easily slipped his loose restraints and was holding a stolen assault rifle.

He did not aim the weapon at the army of mercenaries surrounding them.

He aimed it directly at Sienna's head and smiled.
