The intense red sniper lasers dotted Julian's ruined tuxedo jacket like tiny drops of blood.
He squeezed Cynthia even tighter, cowardly using her body as a human shield against the fortified windows.
"Back them off right now, Sarah, or I swear I will do it!" Julian roared in pure, unfiltered desperation.
Cynthia wailed loudly, her perfect, expensive makeup entirely ruined by heavy tears of absolute terror.
Sarah slowly raised her hands to show she was completely unarmed as she stepped down from the stage.
"Let her go right now, Julian, she is not the one who destroyed your empire," Sarah said incredibly calmly.
Julian sneered like a madman, his hands shaking violently as he held the sharp, broken bottle.
"Then who is going to guarantee my safe passage out of this heavily guarded city?" he demanded aggressively.
Sarah took another slow, deliberate step toward the highly dangerous, unpredictable man.
"Take me as your hostage instead, and I will personally tell the snipers to stand down," Sarah offered bravely.
The entire room gasped in profound horror at the young Chairwoman's incredibly reckless sacrifice.
Maxwell desperately tried to grab her arm, but she gently pushed the old, worried CEO away.
Julian's eyes widened with greedy realization, finally knowing Sarah was the absolute ultimate leverage he needed.
