Chapter 3 - The Golden Folder

Julian’s arrogant face completely drained of all its natural color.
His hands shook violently as he gripped the silver emergency radio.
"Sarah… please," Julian begged, his voice cracking with sudden, overwhelming fear.
The collective heartbeat of the room rapidly rose under the deafening, heavy silence.
Sarah ignored his pathetic plea and reached inside the lining of her ruined dress jacket.
She gracefully lifted a heavy gold keycard folder high into the bright stage lights.
She held it high enough for every single executive in the room to see the royal corporate crest on the cover.
The massive room did not dare to take a single breath again.
She snapped the golden folder open with a sharp, decisive flick of her wrist.
Thick, officially watermarked papers were securely tucked inside the expensive leather binding.
They were the original, authentic controlling shares certificates for the entire global corporation.
Tucked right behind them was a legally binding, signed merger authority letter.
The crucial document clearly bore Maxwell’s unmistakable, verified signature.
The wealthy guests instantly erupted into chaotic whispers and panicked, frantic murmurs.
Cynthia staggered backward, her expensive heels wobbling dangerously on the polished marble.
"That’s impossible," Cynthia gasped loudly, clutching her diamond necklace in absolute shock.
Maxwell remained standing proudly at the front table, his hands now resting calmly on his wooden cane.
"No," Maxwell said, his deep, authoritative voice carrying easily across the silent room.
He looked up at Sarah with immense, undeniable pride shining in his eyes.
"It is actually long overdue," the veteran CEO proudly declared to the board.
Julian realized his entire fraudulent empire was rapidly crumbling in a matter of seconds.
He let out a furious scream and blindly rushed up the carpeted stage steps.

"She is lying to all of you!" Julian roared, pointing a trembling, desperate finger at Sarah.
Sarah smiled coldly and reached back into the golden folder to pull out one final, devastating piece of evidence.
