Chapter 5 - The Locked Room

Blind panic rapidly surged through the wealthy crowd as the electronic door locks clicked loudly.
The pampered guests suddenly realized they were violently trapped inside a corporate war zone.
Julian wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead and let out a manic, desperate laugh.
"You really think a few pieces of paper will stop me tonight?" Julian snarled like a cornered animal.
Ten heavily armed, masked mercenaries stepped out from behind the heavy velvet window curtains.
They aimed their dangerous weapons directly at Maxwell's unarmed, suited security team.
"I still control the physical security assets of this company right now," Julian boasted loudly.
He demanded that Sarah hand over the golden folder immediately or people would get hurt.
Sarah did not even flinch as the red laser sights danced dangerously across her stained white dress.
She calmly placed the priceless documents down onto the wooden podium.
"You always were a violent brute when you finally realized you were losing," Sarah mocked him effortlessly.
Maxwell slammed his heavy wooden cane against the marble floor in furious, unyielding defiance.
"Julian, you are committing armed treason against the board of directors!" Maxwell shouted angrily.
Julian completely ignored the old man and ordered his armed men to advance on the stage.
The wealthy guests screamed in terror and dove underneath the expensive banquet tables for cover.
Sarah tapped the microphone one more time to regain complete control of the chaotic room.
"You forgot one very important detail about my late father's security protocols," she warned him.
Julian paused in his tracks, a brief flicker of doubt finally crossing his arrogant, panicked eyes.

Sarah reached quietly under the podium and pressed a hidden, biometric silver button.
The massive crystal chandeliers above them suddenly flickered out and turned a violent, glowing red.
