Chapter 8 - The Shadow Syndicate

Dante knew the abandoned shipping docks were a massive maze of rusted containers and dead ends.

He called his most loyal capos and ordered them to mobilize every available soldier for a final war.

He hid Sarah and the twins in a secure bank vault owned by a shell company he controlled.

He left a dozen heavily armed guards at the vault door and promised he would return before midnight.

Dante arrived at the docks and met with fifty of his most brutal and efficient enforcers.

They moved silently through the fog like a pack of wolves hunting for fresh prey.

The Palermo syndicate mercenaries were heavily fortified inside a massive warehouse near the water.

Dante gave the signal and his men unleashed absolute hell on the corrugated steel building.

Explosions rocked the harbor as rocket propelled grenades shattered the barricades.

Dante breached the front doors and fired his assault rifle with lethal and unforgiving precision.

He fought his way through the chaos and blood to reach the elevated office overlooking the warehouse floor.

He kicked the wooden door off its hinges and found a man sitting calmly behind a metal desk.

It was not Isabella waiting for him in the shadows of the office.

It was Dante's own father who had supposedly died of a heart attack a decade ago.

The old man smiled wickedly and applauded his son's impressive display of violence.

Dante aimed his weapon at his father's chest and demanded to know where his wife was hiding.

His father laughed and stated that Isabella was never the one pulling the strings.

The old man confessed that he had orchestrated the car bomb to rid the family of a weak woman.

He claimed the empty grave was just a psychological trick to mentally break Dante before this battle.

He told Dante to put the gun down because his men were already inside the bank vault.
