Chapter 8 - The Siege Begins

Maya stared in absolute horror at the flashing red light embedded deeply beneath her bruised skin.

Marcus had viciously injected the military-grade tracking device into her arm while she was unconscious.

She had completely and unknowingly led a massive mercenary army directly to the secret biker compound.

The deafening wail of the compound’s perimeter warning sirens suddenly blared throughout the entire fortified building.

Viper rushed into the medical bay, heavily armed and shouting that they were completely surrounded by Marcus's men.

Wade gently placed the sleeping baby back into the reinforced crib and grabbed his heavy assault rifle.

He ordered me to take Maya and the baby deep into the underground concrete bunker located beneath the clubhouse floor.

I grabbed the oxygen tank while Maya scooped up her newborn son, her hands trembling violently with sheer terror.

We scrambled down the dark, narrow concrete stairs, sealing the heavy steel vault door firmly behind us.

Above us, the terrifying and deafening sounds of a massive firefight erupted as the Iron Saints defended their home.

Explosions shook the concrete ceiling, raining thick dust and debris down upon our heads in the dim bunker.

Maya sat clutching her baby, crying as she explained the real reason Marcus was so obsessed with finding her.

She revealed that she had secretly stolen a highly encrypted microchip containing all of Marcus’s illegal offshore bank accounts.

She had ingeniously hidden the tiny microchip inside the hollow plastic of the baby’s hospital identification bracelet.

My blood completely turned to ice as I realized the horrifying truth about the missing identification bracelet.

I had accidentally snapped that exact bracelet off the baby’s ankle when we were fleeing the hospital.

The microchip containing the leverage to destroy Marcus’s empire was currently sitting in the pocket of my discarded nursing scrubs.

Before I could explain my terrible mistake, the heavy steel door of the bunker glowed bright orange with intense heat.

Marcus’s men were using a high-powered thermite torch to melt completely through our only line of defense.
