Chapter 5 - The Biker Brotherhood

I screamed in absolute terror as Wade’s enormous body slid down the hood of the ruined truck.
The armed mercenaries slowly advanced, their laser sights cutting fiercely through the heavy rain.
I desperately clutched the crying baby to my chest, completely trapped inside the crushed metal cabin.
The lead mercenary raised his assault rifle to completely finish the job and eliminate the remaining witnesses.
Before he could pull the deadly trigger, an earth-shattering roar echoed violently from the far side of the bridge.
Dozens of blinding headlights suddenly pierced the dark fog, accompanied by the thunderous sound of heavy motorcycle engines.
The Iron Saints, Wade’s fiercely loyal motorcycle club, charged directly onto the bridge in a massive V-formation.
They crashed aggressively into the mercenary blockade, swinging heavy chains and firing handguns into the air.
The sudden, brutal ambush completely overwhelmed Marcus's elite hitmen in a matter of seconds.
The mercenaries scrambled desperately back into their armored SUVs and sped away into the dark city.
A massive biker covered in leather patches ran over to Wade's motionless body and rolled him onto his back.
I sobbed with profound relief when Wade suddenly groaned and coughed up a harsh breath of air.
He proudly revealed that he was wearing a heavy Kevlar vest under his shirt, which had successfully stopped the sniper's bullet.
The bikers quickly transferred me, Wade, and the fragile baby into a heavily armored transport van.
We sped away from the ruined bridge, heading toward the impenetrable, heavily fortified Iron Saints clubhouse.
When we finally arrived safely inside the compound, the club's underground doctor immediately examined the baby.
The doctor’s expression turned incredibly grim as he listened closely to the infant’s tiny, struggling lungs.
He looked up at me with sheer panic and stated that the baby's oxygen saturation was dropping to fatal levels.

We had completely forgotten to grab the specialized neonatal regulator valve during the violent crash on the bridge.
The doctor warned us that without that specific piece of medical equipment, the baby would definitely not survive the night.
