Chapter 19 - The Fall of the Czar

On the rusted catwalk, Vincent and Nikolai engaged in a brutal, bloody hand-to-hand fight for survival.
Both men had lost their weapons in the struggle and were now relying on raw, savage strength.
Nikolai landed a crushing blow to Vincent’s jaw, sending the mafia boss crashing into the metal railing.
The Russian giant lunged forward, wrapping his massive hands around Vincent’s throat in a deadly chokehold.
Vincent’s vision began to blur as he struggled for breath, listening to his daughter screaming his name from the corner.
He reached out blindly, his fingers wrapping around a heavy, jagged piece of rusted rebar that had broken off the railing.
With the last ounce of his strength, Vincent drove the sharp metal spike directly into Nikolai’s side.
The Russian gasped, his grip loosening just enough for Vincent to break free and deliver a devastating strike to his knee.
Nikolai stumbled backward, crashing heavily against the weakened section of the rusted railing.
The metal gave way with a loud screech, and Nikolai Volkov plummeted into the freezing, dark waters of the river below.
Vincent collapsed onto the grated floor, gasping for air and coughing up blood.
He crawled over to the wooden crate and pulled Adeline into his arms, burying his face in her hair.
