Chapter 6 - The Traitor

Leo kept the heavy gun perfectly steady, his face entirely devoid of any emotion.
"I am truly sorry, Boss, but the Russians offered me your entire empire," Leo confessed without remorse.
Simon did not look surprised, only deeply and profoundly disappointed.
"You always lacked true vision, Leo," Simon said incredibly calmly.
Leo sneered aggressively and prepared to pull the deadly trigger.
Abigail suddenly slammed her car door into Leo's outstretched arm with all her remaining strength.
The gun fired wildly into the brick wall, missing Simon's head by mere inches.
Simon lunged forward powerfully, striking Leo viciously in the jaw and effortlessly disarming him.
He successfully pinned his treacherous former lieutenant forcefully to the dirty asphalt.
"Where exactly are the kids being held?" Simon roared loudly, pressing a sharp knife to Leo's throat.
"Penthouse suite of the casino," Leo choked out painfully, spitting bright red blood.
Simon knocked Leo completely unconscious with the heavy handle of his stolen pistol.
He turned quickly to Abigail, whose breathing was remarkably ragged and shallow.
"There is absolutely no time for sneaking around anymore," Simon declared fiercely.
He popped the trunk of his car and pulled out two incredibly heavy assault rifles.
"We are going straight through the front door, and we are not leaving any survivors," he promised darkly.
Abigail took a deep, shuddering breath, violently pushing her fear down into the darkest corner of her mind.
They walked bravely side by side through the freezing rain toward the glowing casino entrance.
The heavily armed bouncers immediately reached for their weapons, but Simon fired first.
Absolute chaos erupted instantly on the luxurious, brightly lit casino floor.
Wealthy gamblers screamed frantically and ran wildly as glass shattered and bullets flew everywhere.
Simon and Abigail fought their way relentlessly and brutally toward the VIP elevator.
They finally reached the golden doors, stepping inside securely as the heavy doors slid shut.
Simon hit the shiny button for the top floor, reloading his weapon with grim, deadly determination.

The elevator dinged loudly, opening slowly to reveal a dozen armed men waiting for them.
At the exact center of the dangerous men stood Abigail's father, Walter, holding a loaded gun directly to little Tommy's head.
