Chapter 5 - The Stolen Arsenal

The ground shook as a secondary explosion ripped through the garage roof.

Flames licked the evening sky, casting twisted shadows across the yard.

Bear rallied his surviving men.

“Secure the perimeter and get water on that fire!” he barked.

He ran toward the burning armory with his gun drawn.

The heavy steel doors had been blown completely off their hinges.

Inside, the racks that once held their weapons and cash were completely empty.

They had been robbed blind in under five minutes.

Bear coughed as he moved through the thick, toxic smoke.

He found a single object left behind on an empty table.

It was a scorched piece of leather cut from a biker vest.

It bore the insignia of the Vipers, their oldest and deadliest rivals.

“Snake sold us out to the Vipers,” a biker named Hitch said from the doorway.

Bear gripped the scorched leather until his knuckles turned white.

He realized Snake had used the sniper and the explosion to mask the theft.

But the Vipers had never been smart enough to pull off a tactical raid like this.

Someone else was pulling the strings.

Bear ran back to the clubhouse and ordered his men to breach the iron door.

They used a heavy steel ram to finally break the lock.

Bear rushed inside, his heart pounding in his throat.

The main hall was completely empty.

Sarah and the little boy were gone.

He noticed a trapdoor behind the bar had been left wide open.

It led into the old smuggling tunnels that ran beneath the city.

Bear climbed down the ladder into the damp darkness.

He found Sarah's bloody jacket lying on the dirt floor, alongside a chilling message carved into the wall.

“Bring the drive to the shipyard, or they die.”
