Chapter 3 - Blood in the Dirt

Chaos exploded in the yard.
Bikers dove for cover behind rusted cars and heavy motorcycles.
Bear grabbed Sarah and the boy, pulling them behind a concrete barrier.
Another shot rang out, shattering the windshield of a nearby truck.
“Get the kid inside the clubhouse!” Bear roared over the gunfire.
Sarah held the boy tightly, pressing his face into her chest.
Bear drew his heavy revolver and peeked around the concrete edge.
He was looking for the muzzle flash in the distant pines.
Instead, he saw Snake running toward the back gate.
Snake was abandoning the club in the middle of a firefight.
“Snake, you coward!” Bear screamed.
Two more club members laid down suppressing fire toward the trees.
Bear realized this was a coordinated ambush.
The sniper was just keeping them pinned down while someone else moved in.
The sound of multiple heavy engines roared to life just outside the south wall.
They were completely surrounded.
Bear looked at Sarah, noticing a dark red stain spreading across her shoulder.
She had been clipped by a ricochet.
“I need to get him to the bunker,” she gasped, clutching her arm.
Bear nodded and prepared to give her covering fire.
He popped up and fired three shots toward the tree line.
Sarah sprinted for the heavy iron door of the clubhouse.
Just as she reached for the handle, the door was kicked open from the inside.

A towering figure in a black mask stepped out, holding a shotgun.
The man racked the slide and pointed the barrel directly at the little boy's chest.
