Chapter 10 - The Road Home

“Run!” Bear roared, pulling Jax to his feet.

The two men sprinted toward the exit with everything they had left.

They dove through the loading dock doors just as the warehouse detonated behind them.

A massive fireball ripped through the roof, sending shrapnel raining down into the harbor.

The shockwave threw them into the cold mud, ears ringing violently.

Bear coughed, slowly pushing himself up from the ground.

He looked over and saw Jax leaning against a rusted container, bleeding but alive.

Sarah ran out from behind a parked truck, tears streaming down her face.

The little boy rushed forward and wrapped his arms tightly around his father's legs.

Jax dropped to his knees and hugged his family, sobbing quietly.

Bear watched the reunion, feeling a massive weight lift off his chest for the first time in five years.

The police sirens began to wail in the distance, growing louder by the second.

Bear handed Jax the encrypted flash drive from the toy motorcycle.

“This has the proof to clear your name and bury Pops for good,” Bear said.

Jax looked at his old friend and nodded with deep gratitude.

They helped Jax onto a spare motorcycle, and the family rode off into the sunrise to start a new life.

Bear smiled, finally at peace knowing his brother was safe.

A few days later, Bear was sitting alone in the rebuilt clubhouse, looking at the old dog tags.

His burner phone suddenly buzzed on the wooden bar top.

He picked it up and read a text message from an unknown number.

The message said the cartel had decoded the flash drive and discovered the truth.

But the final sentence made Bear's blood run completely cold.

“We are not coming for Jax; we are coming for the boy.”
