Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Bluff
David stared directly at the heavily armed federal agents with total, genuine confusion.
"I am the exact person who called you here to lawfully arrest her!" David shouted loudly, pointing aggressively at Victoria.
Victoria violently started laughing completely hysterically from the far end of the long boardroom table.
"Did you honestly really think I would not have a brilliant backup plan?" Victoria loudly mocked him.
"I personally planted massive explosives on the city bridge and beautifully framed your chaotic escape as a horrific act of terror."
The federal agents violently moved forward and aggressively forced David down onto his knees.
Maya absolutely refused to let go of his strong, warm hand.
"He is completely, totally innocent!" Maya desperately pleaded with the heavily armed, unmoving men.
"Shut up immediately and step completely away from the dangerous suspect," the angry lead agent ordered her incredibly aggressively.
Marcus confidently walked over and quickly picked up the tiny silver flash drive directly from the table.
"I will just safely dispose of this totally irrelevant piece of supposed evidence," Marcus said with a highly victorious smirk.
David quickly looked up at Maya with an incredibly desperate, silent intensity in his blue eyes.
He very subtly nodded his head directly toward the massive television screen located right behind Victoria.
Maya instantly and completely understood his entirely silent, desperate instruction.
She quickly grabbed her cheap cell phone and furiously typed a complex sequence of numbers David had secretly taught her.
The incredibly large boardroom screen suddenly and brightly flickered vividly to life.
A crystal clear, highly illegal audio recording completely filled the highly tense silence of the massive room.
"I personally planted the bridge explosives to legally frame David for terrorism," Victoria's own voice echoed loudly through the audio speakers.
"Once he is safely locked up forever, Marcus and I will rapidly liquidate absolutely everything."
Victoria completely froze in absolute, mind-numbing panic.
"Turn that highly illegal recording off right now!" Victoria violently screamed at the very top of her lungs.
The numerous federal agents slowly lowered their heavy rifles and immediately turned their attention directly toward Victoria.
"Where exactly did you get that specific audio recording?" the stern lead agent cautiously asked Maya.
Maya held her cheap cell phone up incredibly proudly for the entire room to see.
"I legally recorded it directly from the highly illegal tracking software Marcus foolishly left active in his abandoned car," Maya lied absolutely perfectly.
"It automatically and beautifully synced absolutely everything they secretly discussed inside the vehicle."
Marcus quickly tried to violently run for the heavy wooden door, but a massive federal agent aggressively tackled him hard to the floor.
Victoria fearfully backed rapidly away until her back hit the completely shattered glass window frame.
"This is completely, entirely illegal entrapment!" Victoria shrieked wildly as a huge agent forcefully grabbed both her arms.
The lead agent quickly pulled out a pair of highly heavy, incredibly cold steel handcuffs.
"Victoria Sterling, you are officially under arrest for massive corporate sabotage and domestic terrorism," the federal agent declared loudly.
David stood up incredibly slowly and calmly brushed the tiny glass dust completely off his expensive suit.
He confidently walked slowly over to Victoria and looked her directly and coldly in the eyes.
"You truly never legally learn anything, Victoria," David whispered incredibly coldly.
"I absolutely always win."
The powerful agents forcefully dragged a violently kicking and screaming Victoria completely out of the penthouse boardroom.
Maya let out a truly massive, shaky sigh of utter relief and leaned heavily against the wooden table.
David warmly wrapped his strong arms incredibly securely around her violently trembling body.
"It is all finally completely over," David sincerely promised her very gently.
Maya carefully looked up directly into his deep, beautiful blue eyes.
"Are you absolutely, entirely sure about that?" Maya asked him highly cautiously.
David lovingly kissed her soft forehead with highly genuine, overwhelming affection.
"Yes," he answered confidently.
Suddenly, David's encrypted cell phone began ringing extremely loudly with a highly secure private number.
