Chapter 20 - The Ashes of the Empire

The massive explosion completely obliterated the underground bunker in a blinding flash of pure, searing white light.

The highly volatile incendiary charges strategically rigged within the servers aggressively incinerated the sensitive data and the men attempting to steal it.

Stella had violently thrown herself behind a thick reinforced concrete pillar a fraction of a second before detonating the powerful charges.

The brutal shockwave violently slammed her against the hard concrete, completely knocking the air from her lungs and deafening her ears.

The entire foundation of the massive mansion groaned loudly in protest as thick smoke rapidly filled the devastated room.

Stella slowly pushed herself up from the rubble, her body battered and bleeding, but miraculously still alive.

Victor and his men were completely gone, aggressively consumed by the intense, roaring fire of the destroyed servers.

She stumbled blindly up the ruined, smoking stairwell, aggressively fighting her way through the thick, choking smoke.

She emerged violently onto the main floor of the estate, completely covered in ash and debris.

The remaining guards had frantically fled the property, completely panicked by the massive, destructive explosion beneath their feet.

Stella staggered aggressively out the shattered front doors and collapsed heavily onto the wet, rain-soaked grass of the lawn.

She lay there for a long moment, completely exhausted, staring up at the stormy, unforgiving sky.

Suddenly, the heavy, familiar sound of the armored vehicle aggressively tearing through the woods reached her ringing ears.

Jonah expertly steered the massive vehicle onto the lawn, aggressively slamming on the brakes near her prone body.

He violently threw the heavy door open and aggressively dragged himself out of the driver's seat using only his powerful arms.

He crawled desperately across the wet grass, completely ignoring the painful mud and debris tearing at his useless legs.

He aggressively pulled Stella into his strong arms, holding her fiercely against his chest.

"You're alive," Jonah breathed heavily, his voice completely thick with raw, unfiltered emotion.

Stella coughed weakly, a small, tired smile touching her bruised lips.

"I told you I was the best," Stella whispered softly, resting her head against his racing heart.

They sat together on the ruined lawn, watching the massive Navarro estate slowly burn completely to the ground.

The criminal empire Jonah had aggressively built on blood and fear was entirely reduced to ash.

The corrupt politicians were completely exposed, the cartel was violently crippled, and the rival syndicates were entirely destroyed.

"What do we do now?" Stella asked quietly, watching the bright flames aggressively dance in the darkness.

Jonah looked down at the fiercely loyal, highly dangerous woman who had completely saved his life and his soul.

He smiled a genuine, completely unburdened smile for the first time in his entire life.

"We completely disappear," Jonah replied softly into the stormy night.
