Chapter 19 - The Final Stand

Stella slipped silently through the stormy darkness, completely blending into the heavy shadows of the estate grounds.

She bypassed the heavily guarded front entrance entirely, opting to scale a thick stone trellis leading to a second-floor balcony.

She completely neutralized a lone guard on the balcony with a swift, brutal strike to the throat, dragging his body into the darkness.

She moved with lethal, fluid precision through the grand hallways of the mansion she had once pretended to work in.

The house was crawling with Victor’s heavily armed men, aggressively searching for any remaining valuables.

Stella systematically eliminated five guards in complete silence, using her tactical knife to conserve her limited ammunition.

She reached the hidden entrance to the underground bunker in the library, completely outsmarting the guards stationed nearby.

She slipped quickly into the dark stairwell, her heart pounding violently against her ribs.

She reached the heavy blast doors of the bunker, which were already forced completely open.

Victor was standing arrogantly in the center of the highly advanced room, watching his technicians hack into Jonah's massive server mainframe.

"The download is at ninety percent, boss," a nervous technician reported loudly.

Stella aggressively stepped out of the shadows, her assault rifle raised and perfectly aimed at Victor's scarred face.

"Step away from the console, Victor," Stella ordered coldly, her voice echoing harshly in the bunker.

Victor turned slowly, completely unsurprised to see her standing there.

He smiled a cruel, deeply confident smile that completely chilled the room.

"I figured Jonah would eventually send his favorite little assassin to do his dirty work," Victor sneered arrogantly.

He casually snapped his fingers, and a dozen heavily armed men stepped aggressively out from the adjoining rooms, completely surrounding her.

Stella was entirely outgunned and completely trapped in the underground room.

"Drop the weapon, Stella, and I might let you live long enough to watch me publicly execute Jonah," Victor threatened.

Stella did not lower her rifle; instead, she smiled a fierce, entirely unhinged smile.

"I didn't come down here to stop the download, Victor," Stella revealed softly.

She pulled a small, highly customized detonator from her tactical vest and held it up for him to see.

"I came down here to make absolutely sure you were standing directly on top of the servers when they violently exploded."

Victor’s confident smile completely vanished in a second of pure, unfiltered terror.

Stella firmly pressed the red button on the detonator.
