Chapter 8 - The Warehouse Trap

I moved through the shadows of the shipping containers like a ghost.

I eliminated three corrupt officers silently, taking their weapons and ammunition.

I needed to thin their numbers before confronting the Chief and Rebecca.

The docks were a maze of steel, and I knew every single corner of it.

I fired a burst of rounds into a fuel barrel near their command vehicles.

The massive explosion sent officers diving for cover and illuminated the night sky.

In the chaos, I sprinted toward the SUV where Rebecca was hiding.

I shattered the driver's side window and dragged her out by her hair.

She screamed, dropping her weapon as I pinned her against the steel door.

I pressed the barrel of my gun directly under her chin.

I asked her how it felt to be the one begging for mercy.

She laughed hysterically, blood dripping from her lip.

She said I was already too late to save my empire.

She revealed that Victor had already taken over all my territories tonight.

The Chief of Police walked slowly around the corner, holding a heavy shotgun.

He aimed the weapon directly at Rebecca's chest instead of mine.

He smiled coldly and said that loose ends were bad for business.

He pulled the trigger, and Rebecca collapsed to the ground, instantly dead.

The Chief pumped the shotgun and turned the barrel toward me.

Before he could fire, the deafening sound of helicopter blades filled the air.
